Sander De Winne (1987) is one of Belgium's rare male jazz vocalists. He studied at the school of arts in Ghent, the Royal conservatory of Antwerp and the prestigious Jazz institute in Berlin (JIB).

His teachers were Kristina Fuchs (CH), Judy Niemack (USA), Fay Claassen (NL), Kristen Cornwell (AUS), Tutu Puoane (SA), Kurt Van Herck & Sofie Verbruggen.

Besides that he took privat lessons and/or joined workshops with David Linx, Becca Stevens, Taylor Eigsti, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Barry Harris, Ack Van Rooyen, Sheila Jordan, ...

In 2012 he was admitted at the famous Manhattan school of music in New York as the first Belgian singer ever. He couldn't start the extra master program due to a lack of financial support.

In August 2013 Sander won the Audience award at the 6th international vocal jazz competition Voicingers in Zory, Poland!

His current projects are his own band "soil", Sander's solo project, and the world music & Jazz trio FAVO in Germany, a project of German saxophone player Volker Schlott. Sander also appeared in several (music)theatre plays suchs as paard: een opera by Tibaldus, There is no why here by Music theatre Transparant, Coup Fatal (KVS Brussels), etc.

He also had the honor to work with the Brussels Jazz Orchestra in a Frank Sinatra project.

Apart of being a singer, Sander is also working as a social-artistic educator for several organisations and schools in Belgium and abroad.
